If you are interested in getting to know Jesus on a personal basis, then it’s really quite simple.  Tell Him so.  All you really need to do is start talking to Him.  He is always there, has always been there even through the most difficult times of your life, and He will always be there through the rest of your life.  So, what words do you use?  Well, start with His name, Jesus, just as you would do with any other friend.  It would probably be a good thing to apologize for all the wrong things you’ve done in life – those things we call sins.  After all, the reason your relationship with Him became broken in the first place is because of sin.  He died on the cross to take care of that problem, so it’s already a done deal – He’ll accept your apology.  You don’t have to list everything.  He already knows all about it.  It’s just a good thing for you to confess to the things you have done wrong and He is more than happy to forgive you.  Then, just ask Him to come into your soul and become a part of you.  He will.  He’s just been waiting, eagerly, for you to ask Him to come inside.  If you open the door and ask Him in, He will come in and your life will never be the same again.
