Our Father, which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Luke 11:2

When the Apostle Paul was talking to the intellectual VIP’s in Athens, he told them that “...in Him (speaking of God) we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28)”  What a super-profound statement.  Everything we do, everything we say, everything we think is in Him!  Paul wasn’t just talking about the human race.  All of creation exists in God and is encased in His very substance.  Whoa!  I can’t really wrap my head around that concept, let alone teach others about it, so you’ll have to ponder that scripture during your daily quiet time.  Ask Him to show you the depth of what He is saying and make it real to you.  I’d ask you to share your thoughts in the comment section below, but, if you’re like me, you’ll find it hard to put into words.  So don’t try.  Just let the revelation the Spirit brings to you settle deep into your soul.  There is a peace that washes over us when the Holy Spirit reveals Himself to us.  Let that peace bring rest to your weary battles.

What I just said gets to the heart of Bible study.  Bible study is all about God and getting to know Him.  It’s all about our relationship with Him and His desire to share with us who He is as a person.  Yes, He is the creator of all existence.  Yes, He is all-knowing and omnipresent and infinite in power.  Yes, He is so infinitely big that we cannot even begin to grasp His measure.  Yet, He created us, His children, and His father-heart longs to spend intimate time with us.  So, we draw near to Him in worship.  We “slip into the spirit/Spirit” and when we do, we find we can hear His voice speaking truth.  He reveals to us the intended message of the words we read in the Bible and uses them to heal our hurting souls and guide our wayward paths.  Bible study is all wrapped up in worship – in drawing near to Him.  When we draw near to Him in worship, the ploys of the enemy come to nothing.  If I were teaching you about spiritual warfare, I would tell you that worship is the key to gaining victory over Satan and his minions.  When the enemy tries to distract us from the word of God it is a simple thing for us to simply begin praying in the spirit and slip into His presence.  If you haven’t yet stepped into the fullness of the spirit or received the gift of tongues, you can still simply sit back, close your eyes, and reach out to Him.  He is there.  He is speaking and His presence will silence the enemy.  Worship lies at the center of Bible study, worship is the most powerful weapon we have to use in the spiritual wars we fight.  Indeed, worship is the core of every Christian’s life.  It truly is the reason we live.

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters,
and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat;
yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?
and your labour for that which satisfieth not?
hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good,
and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Isaiah 55:1-2  KJV
